In a recent development, President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep condemnation for the tragic killing of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State, identified as the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Olatunde Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, David Ogunsola. The monarchs were ambushed while returning from a security meeting in Irele-Ekiti, resulting in a fatal attack on their vehicle by gunmen.

President Tinubu, through a statement from his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, strongly denounced the "mindless and brutal bloodletting" and assured that the perpetrators behind this heinous act would not escape justice. The President extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased rulers, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and the entire community of Ekiti State, acknowledging the profound sorrow caused by this deeply distressing incident.


In addition to condemning the killings, President Tinubu has directed immediate efforts towards rescuing kidnapped pupils and teachers in the Eporo-Ekiti area. Reports indicate that unknown gunmen abducted at least six pupils, three teachers, and a bus driver on Monday night, marking another distressing incident in the region.


Assuring the nation of ongoing efforts to bolster the country's security architecture, President Tinubu emphasized the government's unwavering commitment to prioritizing the safety of lives and property. The call for justice and swift action in response to these tragic events reflects the President's determination to address the security challenges facing the nation.
