Nigerian Vice President, Kashim Shettima, shared the heart-wrenching news of the demise of his stepmother, Hajja Hauwa Abba Kormi. In a brief statement posted on his official X handle on Thursday, February 1, 2024, Vice President Shettima expressed his grief over the loss.

The statement revealed that Hajja Kormi, aged 69, succumbed to a prolonged illness. She is survived by five children, numerous stepchildren, and grandchildren. The funeral is scheduled to take place on the same day at Shettimari, Lawan Bukar, Maiduguri, Borno State.

In the X post, the Vice President offered prayers for the departed soul, stating, "May the Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings and admit her to Jannatul Firdaus."

He emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 'Renewed Hope Agenda' is committed to policies that do not favor any particular section but rather serve the overall interest of the nation.

Shettima dismissed those opposing the relocation process as mischief makers. The Vice President asserted that the government's decisions aim at fostering national development without sectional biases.
